两种翻译处理方式
on the part of sb.，这个结构在合同翻译过程当中经常遇到，如果对其没有一定了解，尤其是对于接触法律翻译不久的人来说，该词会对整个句子结构的理解造成一定的干扰，前两天我在翻译一份小文件的时候，又遇到了这个词，因为这个词就法律翻译而言极具代表性，因此，很有必要总结一下这个词经常出现的情形及其译法。这个结构的译法有两种：(1)就某人而言；(2)不作翻译[这是合同中常见的处理方式]。遇到中译英的情形，使用这个结构，不仅可以使表达更加地道，而且简洁。
一、就某人而言 [该译法在合同中并不多见]，例如：
This is a terrible mistake on the part of a manager.
就管理者而言，这是一个严重的错误。
二、不作翻译 [这种处理方式在合同中最常见]，常见搭配如：duty on the part of hospital 院方责任。以下我通过几组例句，让大家更加清楚这个结构经常出现在怎样的情形中：
情形一（两个例句）：
(1)The SUPPLIER shall hold Buyer harmless for all liabilities that are asserted against Buyer due to an act or omission on the part of the SUPPLIER.
供应商应确保买方免于遭受由于供应商的作为或不作为而要求买方承担的所有责任。
